Veldhound — Made for the trail.

Welcome to Veldhound. These Terms govern your use of veldhound.co.za (the "Store") and any purchase you make from us. By browsing or ordering, you agree to them. Please read them — they're written plainly, the way we'd explain things to you over the counter.

Merchant disclosure (ECTA s43)

In line with section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002, here's exactly who you're buying from:

1. Orders & acceptance

When you place an order, you're making an offer to buy. We confirm receipt by email, but a contract is only formed once we accept your order and send you a confirmation or dispatch notice. We may decline or cancel an order — and refund you in full — if:

• the item is out of stock or mispriced due to an obvious error,
• we can't verify your payment, or
• we can't deliver to your address.

You're responsible for giving us an accurate delivery address and contact number. A wrong address can delay or lose a parcel, and we can't always recover that cost.

2. Pricing & currency

• All prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
• Prices and product details can change at any time, but a confirmed order is honoured at the price you paid.
• We try to keep everything accurate, but if a clear pricing or description error slips through, we'll contact you before charging or dispatching — you can confirm at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.

3. Payment

We accept payment through Yoco, our secure South African payment provider — cards (Visa / Mastercard), EFT, and Apple Pay / Google Pay. Payment settles to a local South African bank account. We don't store your full card details; Yoco handles that securely on its own systems. We don't offer cash on delivery.

4. Shipping & delivery

• We ship within South Africa only.
• Standard shipping is R99 flat on orders under R1000, and FREE on orders over R1000.
• Smaller items travel via Aramex Store-to-Door; bulkier items go door-to-door by courier.
• Delivery estimate: 8–11 business days. This is an estimate, not a guarantee — customs or courier delays can occasionally add a day or two. Once an item is held in our local stock, the estimate drops to 2–4 business days and the product page will say so.

5. Returns, refunds & your cooling-off right

You have the right, under the Consumer Protection Act and ECTA, to cancel within 7 business days of receiving your order for a full refund — no reason needed — provided the item is returned unused and in resaleable condition. Our Refund Policy page sets out how to start a return, who covers return shipping, and the (faulty / not-as-described) cases where your rights are even stronger. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

6. Product information

We describe and photograph our products as honestly as we can. Slight variation in colour, fit, or finish between your screen and the real item is normal and isn't a defect. Always check the size and measurements on the product page before ordering — a harness that's the right size keeps your dog safe and comfortable on the trail.

7. Acceptable use

Please use the Store lawfully. Don't attempt to interfere with it, scrape it, resell our content, or use it to defraud anyone. We may suspend access where we reasonably suspect misuse.

8. Intellectual property

The Veldhound name, logo, photography, and copy are ours and may not be copied or reused without written permission. You're welcome to share and tag us — in fact, please do.

9. Liability

We stand behind what we sell. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any single order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for delays outside our reasonable control (courier disruptions, load-shedding, customs, force majeure). This clause does not exclude any liability that can't lawfully be excluded — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

A note on your dog: our gear is made for active dogs, but you know your dog best. Always check fit, supervise use, and choose products suited to your dog's size and temperament. We're not liable for injury or damage caused by misuse, incorrect sizing, or unsupervised use.

10. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with POPIA. How we collect, use, and protect your data — and who our Information Officer is — is set out in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on veldhound.co.za at the time you order is the one that applies to that order.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the South African courts. If something goes wrong, talk to us first — email zanegrobler10@gmail.com and we'll do our honest best to sort it out before it ever needs to go further.
